WOMAN: Hello, Pembroke Holidays, Mary speaking.
MAN: Oh hello. I've seen your advert for vacant positions. Are you the right person to speak to about the jobs?
WOMAN: Yes, I am. Now I'd like to take down some of your details. First of all, could I have your name, please?
MAN: Yes, it's Jack Green.
WOMAN: And can I have your address, Jack?
MAN: This is a little tricky. Now I'm studying at the community college and living in a flat nearby, but I only stay there from Monday to Friday. I go back to my parents' place on the weekends.
WOMAN: OK, so where's the best place to send you some information about us?
MAN: 1Oh, to the flat, please. The address is 7 Market Street.
WOMAN: Oh, is it next to the North Park?
MAN: 2No, it's actually the South Park.
WOMAN: OK, and your postcode?
MAN: 3It's VIT 613UL.
WOMAN: Alright, I've taken that down. Do you have a phone number so we can contact you?
MAN: 4Yes, my mobile number's 07763 ... Sorry I made a mistake. It should be 07736 545608.
WOMAN: Got that.
WOMAN: So, you said you are a student at the community college?
MAN: Yes, I started studying at the college a couple of weeks ago, and I'd like to find a part-time job on the weekends.
WOMAN: I see. What kind of job would you like to apply for?
MAN: Customer service. I like to talk to different kinds of people and it seems that I'm quite good at that. I enjoy listening to what people have to say and helping them solve their problems, that kind of thing. So, I think that customer service would suit me well.
WOMAN: 5Good. Have you ever thought about cleaning? At the moment we also have vacancy in that area and I thought you might be interested.
MAN: Absolutely yes. I've just finished a short-term contract as a hotel housekeeper. I enjoyed the work and it certainly brightened my day to see all the customers staying in a tidy and comfortable environment!
WOMAN: Good. And I will put that down too. Oh, I forgot to ask about your major. What subjects are you studying in college?
MAN: 6My major is drama, and I take history as a minor subject. My granddad is quite enthusiastic about theatre, and with his influence, I gradually became interested in it.
WOMAN: That's pretty impressive! What else can you tell me about yourself?
MAN: 7For relaxation, I'm keen on Spanish. I used to go to the cinema for Spanish movies once a week, and one of my best friends is from Spain. So you can say my Spanish is intermediate.
WOMAN: OK, so with your studying and a part-time job, do you have time for any other interest or hobby?
MAN: 8Well, I spend quite a lot of time driving - both around town to get to college and to work, and also long-distance, from here to London, for instance. So I'm quite good at driving, especially minibuses.
WOMAN: One more question. Are you sure you will have enough time for this job?
MAN: Yes, for sure. On Mondays and Tuesdays, we have classes from 8.30 am to 9.30 pm, so I couldn't work on these two days. 9But from Wednesdays to Sundays, I only have classes in the mornings and afternoons, so I can only work at night.
WOMAN: OK, so when would you like to start working?
MAN: 10Well, 25th August works for me. I will have a week-long trip with my best friends and I probably won't come back until then. But I'd appreciate it if I could rest for two days before starting. So that would be the 27th.
WOMAN: I understand. Thank you for your enquiry, and I hope you have a wonderful journey. Good bye.
MAN: Thank you very much, bye.
